Centering the expertise of refugees to improve policy, programs, and practice
Share the Platform is a group of practitioners and scholars from refugee and non-refugee backgrounds who call upon their refugee colleagues to deliver their expertise on the unique needs and experiences of refugee populations in a wide variety of fields.
We support and train institutions and people from refugee backgrounds to move towards full partnerships to create meaningful change in program design, policy making, and action.
We advocate for experts from non-refugee backgrounds to take meaningful steps to “share the platform” with fellow academics, policy-makers, program managers, and other colleagues from refugee backgrounds.
SHARE THE PLATFORM SYMPOSIUM:
Conversations from the Refugee and Forced Migration Field
Our Inaugural event was a great success! We would like to thank everyone who joined us. It was such a productive conversation and we came away with many new ideas about how to put our vision forward. We also hope these conversations will help spur professionals and organizations to better value the expertise of refugees, and share the platform with their refugee colleagues. Have a look below!
We believe that people from refugee backgrounds have a role in shaping the societies that we all live in.
Share the Platform is a network of experts from refugee and non-refugee backgrounds who work as partners to shape forced displacement policies and programs.

Appoint board members who are from refugee backgrounds
